Second Semester Internship Opportunity
We have openings for multiple interns to experience the greenhouse in all its glory during our peak season. This is the ideal time to gain the greatest understanding of the operation of our wholesale greenhouse because this is the season when the most important and greatest variety of processes occur. The intern will start in January with propagating cuttings of annuals, learning proper technique and the sanitation protocols required. In March the emphasis shifts to planting for finished plant production, which includes everything from pint and 4.5" containers to combination tubs and hanging baskets. The intern will help fill customer orders and understand the logistics of getting product to customers for both young plant and finished products. The intern will experience many other facets of operations at an active wholesale greenhouse depending on interest, talent, and need.
The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for floriculture, an eagerness to learn new things, and an ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions and established processes, and be flexible.
Plantpeddler provides a stipend to each intern and housing for one intern and can assist with finding housing for others. Deadline for application is November 1 with decision announced by November 30.
